Narinig Mo Ba?the cozy sari-sari store game that isn't cozy( how to play · the story · where to play it )
Narinig Mo Ba? looks like a warm little sari-sari store simulator — a neighborhood shop behind a wooden counter, customers buying coffee and eggs and candy. It is not that. It is a short psychological horror story wearing that cozy outfit, and most of its twenty to thirty-five minutes are spent listening to the wrongness creep into an ordinary week. It is free, it runs in your browser, and this page tells you what it is, how it plays, and where to play it safely.

What Is Narinig Mo Ba?
Narinig Mo Ba? (Tagalog for “did you hear that?”) is a story-driven psychological horror game disguised as a cozy store simulator. It was made by six Filipino developers under the name VC Studios for Game Jam Los Baños 2026, and it has become one of the most-played entries of that jam. The basics: a full playthrough runs about 18–35 minutes; it plays in your browser (HTML5) on the official itch.io page, with downloadable builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux; it is name-your-own-price, so you can play it for free; it holds a 4.8 out of 5 rating on its itch.io page; and no generative AI was used — the art was made in-house.

The Story Behind the Counter
Behind the friendly storefront, the neighborhood is hiding something. The community carries more than vague secrets — a desperate act of survival set off a chain reaction, and as the game describes it, the store has been “left open both ways.”

- day 3the eggs

- day 5the silence
- day 6the truth
For six days you sit behind the counter, serve the regulars, and listen: to gossip, to half-finished sentences, to the things customers almost say. By the end you will have heard enough to piece together what happened in this neighborhood — and who did it.
The full truth, the ending, and what it all means are covered in the walkthrough, so nothing is spoiled here.

How the Game Plays
In one sentence: you run the shop and listen to the neighborhood for six days until the truth surfaces. Three things are worth knowing before you start:
rule · 01
The transactions are the routine.
Every customer order is a mouse-click exchange — pick the item from the shelves, take the money, and build the change by hand from the bills and coins on the counter. There is no inventory to manage and no money to save; the counter work is a ritual, not a business sim.
rule · 02
The conversations are the content.
The gossip is not flavor text. Each customer's small talk carries the story forward, and the dialogue choices you get change only the tone of the conversation — never the outcome.
rule · 03
The six days run on a fixed track.
Each day ends automatically after the last scheduled customer leaves. There is no fail state, no way to miss a clue, and no alternate ending to hunt for.
The full day-by-day flow lives on the walkthrough page.

How to Play It & Stay Safe
The game runs in your browser right on the developer's itch.io page, and native builds are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux — all free (name-your-own-price). No account or installation is needed for the browser version.
⚠ one important warning
Get the game only from the official page. The developers have publicly warned that copycat websites are impersonating the game, that those sites are not affiliated with them, and that they may carry viruses or trackers. The only official and safe source is the game's itch.io page.
